I am utterly thrilled to announce that LUXTRA has joined the growing movement of Certified B Corporations.
If you’re not yet familiar with "B Corps", I’m sure you already know a few companies that are: Ben & Jerry's, Patagonia, Innocent, Veja, Ella's Kitchen, The Body Shop & Danone.
So what exactly does it mean to be a B Corp?
In a nutshell, it's about using business as a force for good.
Most companies today judge "success" purely on how much money they make for their owners & shareholders. Companies that are B Corps however, take a fundamentally different approach. We seek to balance purpose with profit. B Corps are for-profit companies, however we operate for the benefit of all who contribute to our success: our employees, customers, suppliers, the local community, and of course the planet.
If you're interested in learning more about B Corporations, here are a few good places to start:
- The B Corporation website
- Rise of the B Corporation - from ethicalconsumer.org
- Why Companies are becoming B Corps - from Harvard Business Review
- The benefits of becoming a B Corp - from American Express
LUXTRA is excited to be part of the global shift in company culture and to be building towards a more inclusive and sustainable economy. Because balancing purpose and profit is the future of business.
