To shake it up a bit, today I'm going to share some recent fun goings-on at LUXTRA.
Spirit of Summer fair
This time last week I was standing tall and proud at the Spirit of Summer fair. It was wonderful to meet so many of you! A few of you even came sporting your LUXTRA bags, which was such a treat to see.
In addition to stopping every second person to ask them if they'd heard about "pineapple leather", we ran a win-your-favourite-bag competition and I'm delighted to announce that N.C.W. (using initials for privacy reasons) is our winner.

Last week I spoke to Selina on the Recloseted podcast about overproduction, failed business partnerships, and scaling a vegan accessory brand. Recloseted is a consultancy firm run by Selina Ho, who is "in the business of making it worthwhile and profitable for brands to incorporate sustainability.”

DHL makes for happy customers
Yay! This type of note from a customer always, always makes my day.
As prices increase, I've been drilling down with vigour into LUXTRA's expenses and general costs. Payments to shipping courier DHL Express represent a significant line in our monthly management accounts, however it's one service that pays for itself.
Royal Mail is the UK's postal service, and it's pretty fantastic for posting anything within the UK. Unfortunately Brexit has meant that sending anything to Europe is now a real pain and Royal Mail shipments take an age (we counted 27 days for one item going to the Netherlands - yikes!) and postal-service packages are far more likely to be held up in customs. Sigh.
The amount of time Chloé, Fiona or I have spent chasing missing parcels for customers makes me cringe.
All this to share with you the fact that we use DHL (selecting "GoGreen" carbon neutral, of course) for all your purchases, meaning we can all sleep soundly!
