Heartwarming news amidst world chaos.
Happy Sunday, and a warm welcome to Chris, Brandon, Suzie, Bibi, Sandra, Alexandra, Wayne, May, Quintana, Mit, Susan, Rebecca, Shelagh, Lara, Anas & Aleah.
This week I noticed that I made quite a few mistakes. Small things (forgetting essential laptop cables, typos, sending emails with incorrect subject lines etc) but I think it's a sign that I'm a bit... tired. I'm therefore going to keep this short (well... short-er), and take advantage of the long weekend here in the UK to get some rest.
Who doesn't love a funny typo?
You may know LUXTRA for our range of handbags, backpacks and wallets, but did you know that we also offer consulting services? Don't worry, this is not a sales pitch. Not my style. Rather I simply wanted to share some heartwarming developments in our little world.
As I mentioned in a previous newsletter, a lot of people who come to our website aren't in the slightest bit interested in our products. Rather, because we typically rank numero uno for search terms such as "vegan apple leather", they are seeking information about cruelty-free and sustainable materials.
With vegan products finally coming into vogue we therefore receive a lot of requests for help.
Ok, so maybe not quite that many. But still, y'know, a LOT!
To date I've helped a range of brands: from startups to Fortune 100 multinationals. The work varies greatly: sometimes I bring my library of vegan leathers to clients so they can touch & feel the real thing (a small suitcase is required!). Other times we go through the pros and cons of each specific vegan leather. For another client I've organised prototypes from Italy. For another I'm advising on a pilot R&D project for a completely new plant-based material that will help the corporation transition into a whole new industry.
I'm also working on a e-book that will contain a lot of this information, aimed at smaller brands who might not be able to afford 1:1 consulting services.
All this to say that it's incredibly exciting to see the level of interest in sustainable materials and to be able to facilitate change. Despite all the horrific things going on in the world, it gives me a lot of hope to see so many people and brands moving in a positive direction.
Wishing you all a great week ahead. I'm off for a nap.
